Bullfighting in Vitigudino, Spain
Toward the end of our time in Spain, Lamar University treated us to a banquet in Vitigudino, Spain. That small town is known for training bullfighers and we got the chance of a lifetime to test our bullfighting skills. We started with a fake bull on a wheelbarrow and then graduated to a small, live bull. Those who wanted to participate, could get in the arena!
If you'd like to read more about this trip, in Spanish, a local newspaper covered our time in the ring with a bull:
I'm not trying to brag... well, maybe I am, but I was one of the few who stepped into the ring with the bull and stood my ground. I have wanted to do this since I was in High School, and I even listed this as one of my plans to accomplish after High School Graduation. Here's a photo of my yearbook quote:
This trip to Vitigudino was one of the best bonding experiences that we had together in Spain. I will never forget bullfighting in Spain and I view it as an accomplishment and a privilege. I hope to add more events to my life on par with this one, but it will be tough to top this!
